In 1983 a gorgeous blue bundle joined our family. With him came high hopes and dreams of great things to come. It soon became apparent that this was not an ordinary pup. Booger (as he was referred to due to his smiling from ear to ear and then, of course, sneezing) became much more than we could have hoped for in the months and years to follow. He was truly a credit to the breed.
Booger was a combination of all things wonderful. He was a power dog, outgoing, forceful, demanding, with an attitude, and mind of his own. But at the sight of a kid, any kid, he became the gentlest, sweetest, kindest dog in the world. He was a natural show-off, earning multiple Best of Breeds under even well-known, type-specific judges. All of these dynamic qualities are apparent in his offspring, grandpups and great gradnpups.
Many of Bogger's prodigy have attained top 20 status in ASCA. Booger achieved the Hall of Fame status through four girls:
HOF Odyssey's Karma CDX,
CH Promise of Odyssey,
CH Keepsake of Windermere, and
ASCA/AKC CH Zuzax's O Say Can You See Me (a Booger granddaughter)
The O Say/Booger cross produced 4 out of 5 CH's with the fifth pup major pointed. Even after achieving Hall of Fame status, Booger continued his legacy through more pups, gaining three ASCA Championships, two AKC Championships, an STDd, and STDsc, two ASCA CD's, one AKC CD, and a Canadian Championship. He was bred to one other girl, Zuzax's Shabang of Odyssey ASCA/AKC CDX (10 pts), (a Booger grand-daughter) which produced one more CH, and other obedience titles.
Our thanks to Sara Roberts of Sand Canyon Kennels for breeding CH Lyssadon's Tiffany of Desert Hills to CH Foot Loose N' Fancy Free of Ironwood, bred and owned by Sharon Herbert which produced this amazing dog.
Thanks to all the people who had faith in Booger's prodigy, and proved it by accomplishing their titles, without which none of this would have been possible.
Life with Booger was an adventure to behold.
